Welcome to Our Practice in Bastrop, Texas
Welcome to CS Family Dentistry. Our friends and neighbors in Bastrop, Smithville, Camp Swift, and Wyldwood trust us with their families, and I do not take that lightly.
If You Have Been Putting This Off
If you are anxious about coming in, tell us. It is incredibly common and completely valid. Some people have had a bad experience somewhere else. Some have not been to a dentist in years and are bracing for a lecture about it. You will not get one from me.
I do not offer sedation, and that is deliberate. I would rather help you get past the fear than have you depend on sedation for the rest of your life. That means taking my time, explaining everything before it happens, and sometimes booking more frequent but easier visits until it stops feeling like a big deal.
The treatment rooms have TVs mounted on the ceiling, so once you are lying back you have somewhere to look other than the light. Put on whatever you want, or leave the calming images that play by default. There are neck pillows, warm blankets, and noise-cancelling headphones too, because small things help. But what actually helps is not being rushed, and that is the part I control.

A Small-Town Practice, Run the Way I Would Want to Be Treated
I want to treat generations of the same family, and a lot of the time we already do. That only happens if people trust you, and trust is built one appointment at a time rather than claimed on a website.
So I will take the time to understand what you actually want from your smile, explain what I am seeing and why it matters, and answer every question before we start anything. If a treatment can wait, I will tell you it can wait. Whatever shape your teeth are in right now, there is a way forward from here.
Your Kids Are Welcome Here
Children often need a different kind of visit, and my team is good at that. We keep it light, we explain things in words that make sense to a six year old, and our operatories have Netflix, YouTube, and music so there is something to focus on other than us.
Good habits start early, and they stick better when a child does not dread the appointment. That is most of what we are doing at these visits.
The Technology, and What It Is Actually For
Technology is only worth having if it changes what I can do for you, so here is what ours does.
I take precise 3D records of your mouth with a cone beam scanner, which lets me see teeth, bone, and soft tissue in three dimensions rather than guessing from a flat image. For implants, I use those records to plan the exact position, angle, and depth on a computer before your surgery, then print a custom surgical guide right here in the office so the placement matches the plan. That is not common in a general practice, and it is the reason I can handle an implant from the first scan to the final crown without sending you anywhere else.
An intraoral camera lets me show you the inside of your own mouth on a screen. It is a small thing that changes the conversation completely, because you can see what I see instead of taking my word for it.
Finding Us
We are right next to the Bastrop County courthouse in downtown Bastrop, about a ten minute drive down TX-71 from Smithville, and we serve Bastrop, Smithville, Camp Swift, and the surrounding areas east of Austin. Many of our patients work at Bastrop ISD, the City of Bastrop, Travis County, the University of Texas, Walmart, and H-E-B, or are members of the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
We keep appointment times flexible to fit around work. If you have a dental emergency, call us and we will do our best to see you as soon as possible, often the same day. Give the office a call or send us a text and we will find something that works.
